RUSH KARTING
SERIES CONTINUES TO EXPAND AS NAUGLE SPEEDWAY BECOMES THE 7TH TO SIGN ON FOR
2020
By Mike Leone
December 23,
2019 FOR IMMEDIATE
RELEASE
(Coraopolis, PA)...Two weeks since
the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Racing Series powered by Pace Performance
announced the creation of the new RUSH Karting Series banner for the 2020
season, Directors Vicki Emig and Mike Leone are pleased to announce that seven
facilities are now on board for the inaugural season.
The latest to join the fold is Naugle Speedway.
Naugle is a 1/8-mile high-banked dirt track located minutes from the Pittsburgh
Airport. Naugle runs on Friday
nights and will be an excellent partner with Wednesday night's Shaffer Speedway
as the two facilities are just three miles apart.
In addition to
Stateline in Busti, New York, Naugle joins the previously announced five western
Pa. facilities of Blanket Hill Speedway, Lockhart Motorsports Park, Pittsfield
Championship Karting Association, Shaffer Speedway, and Slippery Rock Raceway
that are sanctioned for 2020.
"The support over
the last two weeks has been tremendous," expressed Emig.
"We had the initial four tracks come on board immediately, and since that
announcement add three more. It's
been a perfect pairing to add Stateline and Pittsfield with their close
proximity and popular facilities, and now Naugle can team up with Shaffer.
It's great that all seven track promoters really understand how the RUSH
program has worked at the big tracks, and how that very same concept can and
will be beneficial to kart racing."
Naugle is located at 232 Pickens Road, Coraopolis, PA 15108.
The 1/8-mile track called "The Bullring" tubs itself as the "Fastest Kart
Track in the Pittsburgh Area". Pit gates
open at 5 p.m. at Friday nights with warm-ups at 6:30, and racing at 7.

The RUSH Karting
Series technical rules package will feature a RUSH Kart sealed engine (212 cc)
that will be available at Precise Racing Products (Sarver, Pa.) and select
distributors, spec Hoosier slick racing tires with no tire treatment permitted,
and RUSH 91 spec fuel. The complete 2020 rules package will be released soon.
The four classes
for 2020 will include an Amateur/Rookie for five to seven year olds or eight
year olds with no experience, a Jr 1 for kids 8-11 years of age, a Jr 2 for kids
12-15 years of age, and an Adult Flat class for those 16 and older. Speedways
have the option of not only choosing which classes to run at their facility, but
also if they wish to run each individual children's class as a flat or cage
cart; the track's selections will be announced soon.
All classes will
compete for separate Weekly Series Championships that will exceed $8,500 in 2020
(note: there will be just one point fund for each of the children's classes
whether it's flat or cage for the first year). The championship programs are
expected to exceed $12,000 in 2021 with the addition of the Adult Cage class.
The informational
meeting open to the general public will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 1
p.m. but has been moved to a larger and more centralized location at
Gatherings Banquet and Event Center,
which located minutes from Interstate 376 on Route 422 west of New Castle at
2552 Benjamin Franklin Hwy, Edinburg, PA 16116.
